A summer of emotions and events, on a journey through all facets of happiness, embracing different spheres of society, this is the International Festival of Happiness which takes place in Assisi between August and September with the aim to answer the question: “How to be happy?”
The first edition of the festival has as protagonists several important names of culture, entertainment, music, politics and business and offers events marked with intelligent entertainment, reflection, deepening. Among the most awaited events there are the concerts of:
– Maurizio Mastrini, eclectic pianist first to experience the music read and played on the contrary, in “The heart has no barriers,” concert on August 15 in front of the Upper Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi;
– Cristiano De André, one of the most important Italian singers, on August 23 in Santa Maria degli Angeli.
– Luis Enriquez Bacalov, internationally renowned pianist, on September 18 in the square of the Cathedral of San Rufino.
Not only music but dozens of meetings and events organized between the sites and monuments of the City Seraphic, which for the occasion it becomes a big open-air stage.
The last week in August, takes place the exhibition “From the Hill of Paradise” directed by Father Giuseppe Magrino, an event that embraces art and faith, with the desire to make Assisi a model of peace and dialogue.
The weekend from 11 to 13 September, they will take place important meetings and interviews coordinated by Deputy Director of Rai2 Roberto Giacobbo; they will be appointed 12 Assisi’s ambassadors of happiness in the world. The ambassadors, representative personalities of any profession and also “ordinary” people, will receive the “Happiness” of helping, with its participation, associations, research institutes and non-profit organization of the territory and beyond. The guest-ambassador will be responsible for delivering, to the institution of charity linked to the evening, the donations collected and he will receive a certificate handcrafted by disabled children’s center “La Semente” of Spello.
International Festival of Happiness takes place in Assisi from: 1 August -18 September 2015 and can be an excellent occasion to visit Assisi and an interesting event for those who decided to spend his vacation in Umbria.
